One Spark
Solo Playing Spark Roleplaying Game
This rules supplement compliments the Spark Roleplaying Game, written by Jason Pitre. Spark was recently released into the public domain.
Spark is a game about challenging ones beliefs and the interplay between characters and factions within the setting.
This makes it a difficult game to solo play, not having other players to interact with and to challenge your beliefs.
I had to abandon such mainstays as a yes-no oracle or muse tables and instead assume that the answer to everything is a yes, and... result unless it is challenged.
Obsidian
Obsidian is currently very popular with solo circles for recording games. As building your own setting is a valuable part of Spark, I took the plunge and have rolled my experiences of Obsidian and setting building into this book. I found the app and the game to work perfectly together.
Solo rules are a great way to turn any game into a quickstart for the GM. Rather than just making characters to get a feel for the system, you can jump into the game and learn to play before presenting it to your table.
