These rules are written to be compatible with Westlands. Westlands is a fantasy hack of the Cepheus System by way of Sword of Cepheus. It is similar in many ways to Barbaric except in its treatment of Magic. Westlands has far less overt magic than the other Sword of Cepheus-inspired games. What magic there is is powerful but rare. This is not a game where you get to throw fireballs at crowds of goblins.
These rules share some similarities with my Barbaric! solo rules, my rules are called Brute!, but use a slightly simpler oracle, and different drama system. Brute uses a shrinking dice pool system, these rules use a countdown system using a d66.
I feel there is more emphasis on improvisation skills in this booklet than in older solo tools.
